Thursday 11th November 2010.
In two days time we are launching a new company at The Kennel Club's London dog show in Earls Court.
The Company is called 'The Pet Detectives Ltd' It has taken Sam, the project manager and I six months of hard work to take the concept of a Pet Detective service from a dozen pages of notes and sketches through to a tangible business identity. We both know that we still have a lot of hard work ahead of us but we are confident that we are ready for the launch of our company.
However we are not simply launching ourselves into the great unknown, far from it. I have been a professional investigator for over 20 years and have investigated everything from stolen garden gnomes all the way through to the most serious crime of all, murder. For the last eight years I have run a successful Private Detective Agency based in Surrey and every week commence new and often fascinating investigations.
Sam has a wealth of experience working with animals and held a major role within the RSPCA. That is until I was fortunate enough to tempt her away from a regular secure income into this risky business idea of mine. We are now combining our skills and experience in order to maximise the success of this business venture, assisted of course by our team of experienced investigators.
The thing is we are not simply setting up another lost pets website. No, this is something completely different. We are setting out to become the biggest and most successful Pet Detective agency in the United Kingdom. We intend to achieve this by building a comprehensive network of volunteer Pet Detectives right across the country all of whom will help us to reunite missing pets with their owners.
We are looking to sign up thousands of volunteers from all walks of life whether you are a pet owner or not. The more people that help us the better the chances are that we will find many of pets that go missing. We will use this blog and our website http://www.thepetdetectives.com/ facebook and youtube to keep everyone informed about what we are doing and post regular progress reports on many of our investigations.
If you are interested in becoming one of our volunteers then please go to our website and complete the contacts page. We will then add your details to our totally secure data base and send you a confirmation e-mail of your registration. After that we will let you know how, where and when you can help us look for missing pets.
Finally I want to mention that we plan to donate five percent of our annual company profits to animal charities.
Thank you for taking the time to read our blog and we look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Colin Butcher
Senior Investigating Officer
